I never hesitate to bring my car to Avery James, their service is fantastic and they always go above and beyond, making sure to be transparent with problems, resolutions and pricing. Even fitting me in last minute for tyre repairs and then replacing bulbs when they spot them there and then! Always grateful for the friendly service! Thank you so much!

I personally will never return to this garage, and I wouldn’t recommend anyone else to do so either. The labour prices are extremely high, and I experienced a lot of what felt like costly guessing work. Even two weeks after picking up my car, I still feel both devastated and taken advantage of - but let me explain how I got there. Like many, I was encouraged by the positive reviews on Google and thought I had finally found a reliable garage nearby. I called to book in and was charged £120 upfront for a non-refundable diagnostic. (For context, I had already had two separate diagnostics done — one by RAC — both confirming the same faults: a faulty FRM module and a possible wiring issue with the hall sensor, which was preventing my roof from closing back up.) After receiving what seemed like a reasonable initial estimate, I dropped the car off. But just one day later, I was already being informed of higher costs - and that was just for the first issue. Despite having paid for their diagnostic, I continued to be charged increasing amounts in labour as the work progressed. I did receive updates over the phone, but once you’re partway through and your car is in process , you’re stuck - it feels like there’s no way out and no real control over the final cost. What I find most unprofessional is that even after a diagnostic, they were not able to provide a clear worst-case scenario price. The final bill came to around £1,100, most of which was labour. This was more than double the initial estimate. I left feeling extremely let down. Unfortunately, I trusted the reviews and paid the price - literally. If i knew the total estimated from beginning that car would be sold to scrap yard instead. I would still like the opportunity to discuss my invoice in more detail with the owner — though, based on my experience, I doubt he genuinely cares to look at it. I did exchange few emails with the garage regarding total bill and when will it be completed but didn't really received anything until the very last day. Not to mention the costs incurred for 2 weeks without the car.

I had an excellent experience with Avery James. After two other garages were unable to fix the issue with my car, they managed to diagnose and resolve the problem quickly and efficiently. The team was knowledgeable, professional, and kept me updated throughout the process. I’m so grateful for their hard work and dedication in getting my car back on the road. Highly recommend their services to anyone in need of reliable and expert car repair! Fantastic service, I use my car for work so was in quite the panic when I found myself without a road worthy vehicle one Monday morning! They managed to fit me in that same day and found the three issues causing the fault, fixed them all, and got the car through it's failed MOT in just three days! Most garages couldn't even see me until the following week. Friendly, reliable and knowledgeable service, they didn't do anything without consulting me first. I'll definitely be using them going forward for all my car needs. Thankyou to all the team for getting my car back on the road ☺️

From the start the communication with Cat has been outstanding. I really appreciate her breaking everything down and explaining the work that is needed on my car. I was super impressed to find my seats, floor and steering wheel with protective covering on whilst they examined my car, not something I have experienced with many garages before!
