Furniture Repair

We are Mason’s Furniture Services, led by Gavin Mason FRSA, working from Cobbarn Farm House, nestled between Tunbridge Wells and Crowborough in Eridge Green. We specialise in refinishing, repolishing and restoring modern, contemporary, mid‑century and Arts & Crafts wooden furniture - bringing pieces “back to bare wood” using correct materials and factory-standard processes, aiming to make them “as new” again.

Our journey began with traditional cabinet-making and polishing training, followed by retail and manufacturing ventures, before focusing exclusively on furniture refinishing and structural repair under the banner of Mason’s Furniture Services. Throughout our career, we have developed a rare blend of wood craftsmanship and restoration expertise, offering services that lie beyond the typical scope of antique conservators.

Advising and Resolving (consulting, Reporting, Appraising)

We offer repolishing and refinishing to remove surface defects, restoring collectible, designer and reproduction wooden furniture to a condition that closely resembles its original factory finish. By combining the precision of modern techniques with a craftsman’s eye, we deliver results that stand out in clarity and sheen.

Our repairing and restoring service delivers a more complete transformation - addressing structural issues as well as aesthetic ones. When necessary, we incorporate structural repair work alongside refinishing, ensuring each piece is both visually stunning and solid in integrity.

With new furniture finishing, we finish and polish bare-wood furniture, joinery and kitchen elements - bringing ready-built pieces to the highest standard of smoothness, colour match and protective coating.

For staircases, joinery and bars, whether new or existing, we provide in‑situ working - delivering fine finishes directly in your home or premises with the same attention to detail as in the workshop.

Our advising and resolving service offers expert support when conflict or uncertainty arises. We assess faults - whether manufacturing, material, design, finishing, assembly, or damage - and determine if they are rectifiable. We can prepare detailed photographic reports and support negotiations, arbitration or small claims representation. We also appraise pieces for authenticity, factory defect status or overall quality. Think of us as your professional friend in resolving furniture issues.
